His effort is giving people hope and building local economies.  A Christian man who is acting on his faith, Barnabas has a dream of hope. Hope for an economically strong future and a spiritually and physically well-fed equatorial Africa..

ABOUT THE EVENT

Hosted at Restoration Oaks Ranch every year, Wild Farmlands' African Party On The Ranch is an energetic fundraising party featuring lively African music, video, presentation and Q&A. The video and discussion will revolve around the food needs and economic conditions of equatorial Africa, and the accomplishments & resource needs of Barnabas, his team and his Migisha Farm in Uganda.

The Venue

Restoration Oaks Ranch is a 955 acre cattle grazing ranch, UPick berry farm, farm stay and outdoor education landscape nestled in the wild oak woodlands of Santa Barbara County. The ranch is located 4 miles south of the city of Buellton and 5 miles north of the Gaviota tunnel right off of US Highway 101.

The Food

Alyssa Carr Mahone will be preparing the authentic African hors d' ouervres, dinner and dessert. Alyssa grew up with Barnabas and has spent a lot of time on the Migisha farm. The meal she is preparing is the same as meals she has prepared and served to family and friends in Uganda.

Hors d’oeuvres:
Peri-Peri chicken & pineapple skewers
Vegetable Samosas

Buffet Dinner:
Matoke (stewed plantains)
African Stewed Spinach
Beef Stew with Irish potatoes
Tilapia Herby (what they call it lol!)
Ugandan Beans

Dessert:
Blueberry Handpies

The Music

MasangaGroup 250

Masanga Marimba (click and listen) are are a diverse and accomplished group of musicians that have chosen to specialize in marimba. They are spectacular! The atmosphere they create is joyous and reflects well the energy and attitude of the rural Ugandan people that we are supporting through Barnabas and his small farm building team.
