The Santa Ynez Chumash Environmental Office (SYCEO) was established in 1998 to provide support to the Tribal Government and to serve the Chumash Tribal community.
It is our mission to responsibly manage natural resources for sustained social, cultural, spiritual, and economic prosperity.
Our vision is a Chumash legacy of environmental stewardship, exemplifying sustainability for communities throughout the world.
The staff of the SYCEO focuses on seven main program areas, with a number of projects being implemented under each area:
